Classic Kitty Treats
1 1/2 cups cooked chicken or turkey
1 large egg
2 tablespoons chicken broth
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
In a blender or food processor, mix together chicken, egg, and broth until the mixture becomes smooth. Transfer to a bowl.
Add cornmeal and 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and stir until moistened. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
Lightly flour a work surface and roll out the dough so it is 1/4 inch thick. Cut the rolled dough into 1/2 inch square or triangles. Scatter the pieces onto 3 cookie sheets. Bake the treats at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or until the treats become golden. Remove from oven. Make sure your treats are not sticking to the pan and let them cool, and then refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. You can also store in the freezer until you are ready to use.
